"Steering wheel locked, try once more"
HI,
I own a 2005 S40 T5 with 60000KM, and couldnt start the car earlier today...The message said that the steering bike is locked...wich wasnt the example...It happened earlier, but but had to play with the steering wheel a piddling (even so unacceptable for that price), but today, it just wouldnt start...
I tried everything...And had to put it on a flatbed....
I called a Volvo dealer mechanic, and told me that there is naught to practise??
This is really ridiculous...
Does anyone had that problem too?
Thank you

The dealer'southward mechanic is full of crap...go to the dealer to complain LOUDLY....nevertheless under warranty, right? They need to modify out whatever module you have in your steering as information technology'due south giving your computer fake information and leaving yous stranded....what a crock.

Hi,
Unfortenately, the warranty expired 2 months ago...
And so lets hope that module non gonna cost too much...
Yes, the dealer is pathetic, not the first fourth dimension I had to fence with them..but theres not many Volvo dealers in Montreal...
Every bit for the engine, nope, it doesnt crank...nothings happens...I just hear a picayune "tic tic tic", like some sort of an electronic device...
Do you think that by unplugging the battery and replugging it, it would reset the computer?
Thanks

tic tic is typical of a low battery....even if it seems to have 12V, it should really exist closer to 14 when cranking. You might go to an automobile parts store and have them test it under load- this could be something simpler than you lot realize. Strange things happen (all kinds of electrical issues) to these cars when the battery is depression.

If it not the battery it may exist something I ran into a couple of years ago. Customer towed in a 01 or 02 S40 in that would not crank. Dash lamps came on, steering wheel would unlock, only key would not turn to crank. After replacing ignition switch,no set up,and lock cyl,no fix, I found a small-scale lever between the switch and lock cyl, coated in a heavy grease. When I touched it it popped up and and then the motorcar worked like a charm. May be related. Lock cyl was very easy to remove.Grease should be cleaned off and lighter lube applied. The lever was part of steering lock and was stuck, even though the steering would lock and unlock. Possibly?

I but unpluged and repluged the battery, and naught...It didnt had an effect on the computer (I dont know much about mechanics...)
The cardinal is turning as if engine the would start...but just doesnt start....
I just hope the dealer will find the problem quickly, and not but reset the computer, since it could/will happen later on...
Of, grade, Irish potato's law made information technology happened a week-end, and so I'l have to wait next monday to bring the car to (another) dealer...and hire a race-bred- finely-tuned Toyota Yaris for the week-end...yep....
Thank you a lot for your aid!

The dealer's mechanic is full of crap...get to the dealer to complain LOUDLY....still under warranty, right? They need to change out whatsoever module you take in your steering as it's giving your calculator false data and leaving you stranded....what a crock.
Y'all were right, I brought it to another dealer, and they called me dorsum 30 minutes later to explained me problem.
The error code was CEM-6C52, and had to change the steering lock module, the shear screw and do a SCL reload. It took them 2 hours, and the auto is starting fine at present...or as it should...
$500...there goes the PS3 I was going to buy next week...
Thank you over again
